SPRING AND FALL HOME MAINTENANCE
Examine the roof for evidence of damage to roof coverings, flashings etc
Look in attic check roof venting, evidence of leakage, condensation
Inspect the exterior walls foundation for evidence of damage, cracking
Survey the basement and/or crawlspace walls for evidence of moisture seepage
Overhead wires coming to house should be secure and clear of trees
Ensure that the grade of land around house slopes away from foundation
Inspect driveways, walkways, decks, porches for deterioration, safety hazards
Clean windows and test their operation. Improve caulking & weather stripping
Test all ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) devices
Shut off isolating valves for exterior hose bibs in the fall
Test the Temperature Pressure Relief (TPR) Valve on water heaters
Inspect for evidence of wood boring insect activity
Test overhead garage door opener, to ensure the auto reverse is responding
Replace or clean exhaust hood filters
Clean, inspect and/or service all appliances as per manufacturers recommendations
